Summary

Information und configuration hints for SIP provider sipgate (Germany), product: sipgate trunking.

Information

General information

The product "sipgate trunking" from sipgate is a SIP trunk with user authentication. You have received information about UserID, UserName and UserPassword, whereas the nameing may differ, or you have only received UserName and -password. In this case, UserID and UserName are identical.

Configuration

During creation of the SIP Trunkgroup, profile 'sipgate trunking (DE)' has to be selected.

After the SIP Trunkgroup was created, during creation of the actual SIP trunk, it is necessary to assign a SIP URI to the trunk to assign incoming calls to the correct SIP Trunk. The assigned number block and the numberformat must be considered.

Example
Numberblock: +49 40 1234560 ... +49 40 1234569
In this case, the SIP URI must be entered in the format 4940123456*@*.

Assigning the SIP URI to the SIP trunk can also be done after the SIP Trunk was created. In this case it is necessary to restart the LinkMgr service afterwards.

In the codec dialog, T.38 has to be deselected as supported codec.

A connection to "sipgate trunking" requires a STUN server, which is provided by sipgate themselves. This STUN server uses the port 10000 instead of the default port 3478. The networking environment (NAT, firewall) has to allow communication with that port.

For your convenience the generated CustomProviderProfiles.config is available for download at the end of this article. Extended information about how to use this file can be found at Configuration and Adaptation of SIP Providers via Provider Profiles (kb3436).

Important: From SwyxWare2015 R30.6 on, the provider profile for "sipgate trunking" is already available in the list of provider profiles and the CustomProviderProfiles.config is no longer necessary.
