Summary

This article describes the changes in the firmware 2.0.12 of a SwyxDECT 800 base station. Especially, the specifics of the new version are explained.

Information

License file:

The license file is no longer available in the menu "General", "License". This was replaced with a SARI number.

SARI
The SARI (Secondary Access Right Identities) is necessary for access permission. You have to order on license for a DECT system.

The SARI can be found in the menu "DECT", "SARI". You should fill in the license during the first configuration of the base station. When you make a hardware reset (by pressing the reset button for at least 10 seconds) the SARI will be deleted and the base station cannot be used as a master any longer. Be shure, that you have your license or do a backup of the configured base station before a reset.

Anonymous Mode
It is no longer possible to activate new handsets in the "Anonymous" mode from the menu option "Subscriptions" under "DECT", "System".
To do this, you need to select the option "With System AC" from the menu "DECT", "System" under "Subscriptions". Then you can proceed as usual to activate the new handsets.

Logging in a new handset and assigning it to a user

Create a new user in the base station (as before):
To do this, you need to fill in the following four fields under "Users", "New":

1. Long Name (the user name)
2. Name (H.323 alias)
3. Number (internal number)
4. Display Text (is shown on the handset)

Handset Quick Log in
On the base station, enter a code under "DECT", "System", "Authentification Code", e.g. 1234

Handset D200

1. Switch on
2. Base PIN: 1234 (the Authentification Code configured before)
3. Press "Yes" (the logon process starts)

The handset is now activated and the IPEI is displayed in the base station under "User", "Anonymous". Now, the internal number of this user (of this handset) is dialled with this handset.
You hear a "busy" tone.
End the call.
Now, you can see the IPEI number for this handset in the user list, under "Users" and "show" for this user. In addition, you can see the IP address of SwyxServer in the "Registration" field. This indicates that the H.323 log on at the server was successful.

Handset D300

1. Switch on
2. Select the logon menu
3. PARK: leave empty
4. AC: 1234 (the Authentification Code configured before)
5. Name: e.g. Smith (enter a display text)
6. Press "Yes" (the logon process starts)

The handset is now activated and the IPEI is displayed in the base station under "User", "Anonymous". Now, the internal number of this user is dialled with this handset.
You hear a "busy" tone.
End the call.
Now, you can see the IPEI number of this handset in the user list, under "Users" and "show" for the user. In addition, you can see the IP address of SwyxServer in the "Registration" field. This indicates that the H.323 log on at the server was successful.

Possible errors:

When trying to log on the handset and dialing your own number, you hear music on hold, instead of the "busy" tone. This indicates that the call remains in the base station and is not transferred to SwyxServer. The H.323 log on to the server was not successful. The reason for this can be a wrong H.323 alias on the server or base station. The alias should not consist of digits only, but it should be an alphanumeric value, e.g. "Tom" or "Office2".
